Choosing a campervan
The first step in the campervan hire process is to decide on the type of campervan you would like to hire. It’s important to think about your needs and budget before making a decision.
For example, if you’re travelling as a family, you may want to look at larger campervans. Our Transporter campervan hire is a good option as it is a 4-berth van. It has everything you could possibly need for your trip including cooking facilities, seating/sleeping area, sink and hob, heating, lighting and so much more!
Reserving your campervan
Once you’re happy with your choice, the next step is to reserve your campervan. With camper_virgins, you can find all the information you need on our website including booking, pricing, collection times, drop-off times and availability – which is live and fully up-to-date. It’s important to ensure you meet the eligibility criteria shown with the vehicle details. If you arrive for collection and you don’t meet it, your hire will be cancelled. Who is eligible for campervan hire?
Anyone looking to hire a campervan from us will need to be over the age of 25, and have a full UK driving licence (with no more than 6 points) that you have held for over two years. You must also have never had your licence suspended or been involved in an accident in the past three years. We will need to see your DVLA licence check code as well as two recent utility bills which match the details on the licence.
Collecting your hire van
When you collect your campervan from us, we’ll provide an extensive equipment list (which can be found on our website) and fully comprehensive insurance and this includes breakdown cover, so you won’t have anything to worry about during your trip. It’s also important to make sure you’re familiar with how everything in the van works before you set off.
When you pick up the campervan, our team will check your documents and you will need to provide a deposit, which is payable by card only. This is refundable three days after the return of your campervan as long as there is no damage to the vehicle.
What is included with my campervan hire?
Once you have your campervan, you are free to travel wherever you like within your hire period! No matter which campervan you choose, you will have access to twin leisure batteries, solar panels, a 240v hookup and a gas bottle. The van will be equipped with a table, toilet, front passenger swivel seat and starry night ceiling.
As well as this, there is an electric mains hookup and a kettle (with tea, coffee and sugar), cutlery, utensils, mugs, plates, pans and tea towels, so you don’t have to bring these essentials with you. We also provide two adult camping chairs and two kids camping chairs so that you are ready for any adventure.
